THE RACK AND BONE MAN story...
Boone Hanlon's Wild West Culinary Journey
In the heart of the Wild West, Boone Hanlon was not your average cowboy. With a heart as big as Texas and a stomach with an appetite for discovery, Boone had a talent that set him apart—he was a master BBQ chef. His love for cooking smoky, mouthwatering ribs and racks drove him across the vast stretches of the USA, and later, across the seas to Europe. see our food here
Boone’s adventure began under the blazing sun of New Mexico, where he first set up his modest BBQ pit. Word quickly spread about the man with the magical grill, and folks from nearby towns flocked to taste his legendary ribs. But Boone’s curiosity couldn’t be satisfied by the flavours of the West alone. He wanted to find new sauces, drinks, and treats to elevate his craft.
Packing up his trailer, Boone headed east, taking his journey to the bustling markets of New York. There, he learned the art of crafting spicy mustard sauces from the local deli owners. His next stop was the Deep South, where he discovered the secrets of molasses and bourbon glazes in Louisiana. Each place he visited added a new layer of complexity to his BBQ repertoire.
Boone's quest didn’t end at the shores of the Atlantic. With his food trailer secured on a ship, he sailed to Europe, landing first in Latvia. In the lively markets of Riga, he learned to infuse his BBQ with the rich, smoky flavours of local wood and spices. The Latvians’ love for hearty meats resonated with Boone, and he incorporated their techniques into his own recipes. see our food here
Traveling westward, Boone found himself in the picturesque countryside of England. Here, he discovered some sweet treats called flapjacks that were so tasty he had to bring them back to the states.
Boone's journey finally brought him to the rugged highlands of Scotland. It was here that he found the perfect balance between sweet and savoury in the form of whisky-infused BBQ sauce. The Scots welcomed Boone with open arms, sharing their ancient brewing methods and hearty oat-based treats that complemented his BBQ dishes perfectly. see our food here
